Ridge & Valley Farms
Welcome to the new website of Ridge and Valley Farms - an all-natural beef cattle farm in Southwest Virginia. I will be using this blog to show progress on our (and soon-to-be your) growing animals as well as general farm projects as they arise.
First, ask questions. If there is something you would like to know, learn about, or even be a part of, just let us know. We are an open book and invite you to join our family. You can even join us on the farm if you’d like. Currently, we have farms in Russell and Washington counties in the “Ridge and Valley” region of Virginia...hence our name :-).
Buy Bulk - SAVE $$$
Our specialty is “bulk beef” - where you basically sign up to have a share (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) of an entire cow. When price comparing with retail cuts at the grocery store, you will see that buying bulk is much easier on your pocketbook than paying the full price at your retailer. Having a share of an entire cow also means you get everything (unless otherwise specified) - ground beef, steaks, roasts, bones (for broth), brisket, etc. - all of this comes with your share from your cow. Want to impress your friends with having a stash of beef for the fourth? Sign up for the July Harvest. Since it takes several months for beef cattle to reach their appropriate harvest weight, we ask you to sign up as early as possible to ensure we can fulfill your order. Currently, we are taking orders for our July 2018 harvest. Yes I know...it’s January...but if you want beef, try to sign up pretty quick because orders really do fill up fast. To hold your spot, we ask for a non-refundable deposit of $100. This holds your spot for your share of beef.
